The prices paid for hotel rooms in the UK have fallen for the first time four years, according to the Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI). The UK was the only major European country in which prices paid for rooms by UK travellers fell 4% in Q3 2008, to £97 per room per night, compared to £101 a year earlier.

The average price for hotel rooms across the world fell over the summer, according to the Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI). This is the first year-on-year fall in prices measured in any quarter since the Hotels.com Hotel Price Index started in January 2004.
