New technology from Hotels.com allows guests to book a dream with every hotel stay

April 1st 2015 – Hotels.com today announces that guests can book a free dream with every hotel stay made by midday on Wednesday 1st April. The ‘Dream Rewards’ programme, which will tie into the current loyalty scheme on the booking website, allows hopeful travellers to choose between up to fifty different dream scenarios they can experience while sleeping in their hotel room.

By creating a new piece of software, Hotels.com now allows dreams chosen through the website or mobile app* to be activated through a simple tone via the downloadable app when guests fall asleep in their hotel bed.

It is important to get the perfect night’s sleep when travelling and the ‘Dream Rewards’ programme guarantees the perfect slumber scenario. Dreams that can be booked through the site include but are not limited to:

  • Scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup Final
  • Marrying a male/female celebrity (depending on gender and sexual preference)
  • Winning the lottery
  • Demonstrating superpower abilities
  • Performing on stage at the O2

Customers simply insert their name, chosen dream option and any added details, such as their beloved football team’s name, ultimate celebrity crush or favourite artist, to select their bespoke dream delivery.

The pioneering technology monitors movement during the night, then plays a tone at the optimum moment in the sleep cycle to influence the subconscious. The tone emitted from the mobile app synchronises with synapses in the cerebral cortex to influence the dreamer’s thoughts and help shape their dream. The precise pitch of the tone used enables further Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep, the period during which most dreaming occurs, guaranteeing a higher level of brain activity during a guest’s rest and leading to their chosen dream.
