This Autumn, Hotels.com will immerse travelers in the incredible world of Academy Award-winning director Guillermo del Toro with a stay at a hauntingly chic hotel suite inspired by his “En Casa Con Mis Monstruos” exhibit in Guadalajara, Mexico. Inspired by the work of production designer and curator of the exhibit, Eugenio Caballero, the Monster Suite offers an extended experience of “En Casa Con Mis Monstruos” for fans who can’t get enough of the director’s world of fantasy and horror. Located on the grounds of the Museo de las Artes at the University of Guadalajara, the suite will be available for three nights only before the exhibit concludes in October.
“At Hotels.com, we are big admirers of Guillermo del Toro’s work, so we wanted to partner with the exhibit to offer fans, especially those traveling to Guadalajara, an authentic, immersive experience,” said Marwan Badran, General Manager of Hotels.com Brand in Latin America. “Just like his films, a hotel stay can be an escape from reality, so why not combine them?”
Not for the faint of heart, the Monster Suite is designed with those obsessed with all things spooky AF in mind. Behind its illusive dark Victorian doors are fantastical elements inspired by some of Del Toro’s most memorable films and creations. A life-size aquatic beast, nightmarish porcelain doll and hands clawing out from the wall are just a few elements guests will experience during their stay.
Before they tuck in for the night with their new monster BFFs, guests will also take an exclusive nocturnal tour of the “En Casa Con Mis Monstruos” exhibit, which features over 900 installations from the director’s films, comics and personal collection. After getting up-close and personal with monsters that, until now, have only been seen in films, guests can retreat to the Monster Suite to keep their fantasy world experience going through the night.
